A gas leak caused a powerful explosion on the morning of Monday, April 29 in downtown Prague, close to the National Theatre and the famous Slavia café.

The Sme daily wrote, quoting Czech media, that the explosion – the most devastating in recent years, according to experts – resulted in considerable damage and left 35 injured people. The press secretary of the Slovak Foreign Ministry, Peter Susko, confirmed for Sme that one Slovak citizen was among the injured, and suffered only minor injuries, mostly in the form of small cuts from glass.
