Gašparovič is first Slovak president to officially visit Japan

Showcasing Slovakia as a country that is suitable for direct Japanese investment and finding ways to boost economic cooperation as well more exchange in areas of science and culture will be the key focus of President Ivan Gašparovič's official visit to Japan between June 26 and 30, the President's Office told the TASR newswire. Gašparovič, who will be the first Slovak president to visit Japan, will be accompanied by his wife, Silvia, as well as Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák and Economy Minister Tomáš Malatinsky and a group of business leaders, including Robert Šimončič, the head of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO).
