Recognition of Kosovo's independence remains a question that will require time to answer, Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič said on February 20 according to the TASR.
"We can't decide from one day to the next whether Kosovo will be viewed by us as a duly-recognised state," said the president after meeting Foreign Affairs Minister Ján Kubiš. "Kosovo continues to be an issue that the Foreign Affairs Ministry will study, watch and comment on regularly," he added.
Gašparovič assumes that Kosovo will remain a problem for perhaps as many as ten years, until countries around the world adopt a final stance. "Nobody can say today which (stance) will be the right one." TASR
