GDP flash estimate for Q2 2014 up to 2.5 percent

SLOVAKIA’s economy slightly increased its dynamics in the second quarter of this year, the GDP flash estimate published by the Statistics Office suggest.

SLOVAKIA’s economy slightly increased its dynamics in the second quarter of this year, the GDP flash estimate published by the Statistics Office suggest.

The statisticians report GDP increased by 2.5 percent year-on-year, which is an increase by 0.1 percentage points compared with the previous quarter, the SITA newswire reported.

The economy has maintained solid quarter-on-quarter growth, and when compared with the first quarter after seasonal adjustment GDP rose by 0.6 percent, while in the first quarter it increased by 0.7 percent.

In current prices, Slovakia produced GDP in the volume of €18.374 billion in the second quarter, which is a y/y increase by 1.9 percent.

More exact data for the second quarter will be published on September 3.
