The Government Council for Gender Equality, will begin coordinating the Cabinet's gender-related policies in October, according to a Labour Ministry document that has been has been submitted to the Ministry for comment.
The Council will support gender equality in the government and be on the lookout for gender-based discrimination.
A one-time investment of Sk310,000 is required to get the council up and running. Its estimated budget calls for about Sk1.7 million for the rest 2007 and Sk5.5 million annually thereafter.
