German Bundestag chief to visit

THE PRESIDENT of Bundestag, Germany’s lower house of parliament, Norbert Lammert will arrive for a three-day visit to Slovakia on March 2. He will meet with his Slovak counterpart Pavol Paška, as well as President Ivan Gašparovič and Prime Minister Robert Fico, the German Embassy to Slovakia said in a statement.

During his stay in Slovakia Lammert will also hold a lecture at the University of Economics in Bratislava. The main issue will be Europe between the years 1914 and 2014. He will also attend a dinner organised by the Group of Friendship with the Federal Republic of Germany, at which he will meet several Slovak MPs, and visit Slovak plant of Volkswagen, the embassy informed.

Lammert will be accompanied by Michael Grosse- Brömer, member of the CDU/CSU party, and Petra Sitte, member of Die Linke.
