GERMAN-US company Getrag Ford Transmissions yesterday announced a €300 million (Sk12 billion) investment in Slovakia’s Kechnec industrial park near the city of Košice.
It is the biggest single investment so far in the east of Slovakia.
The construction of the plant should start at the end of May or early June next year, wrote Hospodárske noviny. Everything that the plant produces will be for export. Production should be launched in 2007.
The state is planning to provide Getrag Ford Transmissions with incentives amounting to Sk3 billion (€80 million).
