The anti-corruption demonstrations, which began in Bratislava in January, are due to culminate in rallies on March 9, one day before Slovakia votes in parliamentary elections. The organisers stated that they stood by their previous demands and would continue with the protests.

One of their demands is a full investigation into the Gorilla case, the resignation of all politicians suspected of corruption, and their subsequent criminal prosecution. The organisers are also demanding that MPs' immunity from criminal prosecution be scrapped, that the political system be changed to allow voters to choose between candidates by region and not merely from national party lists, and for a rule change to make it easier to call a referendum. Another meeting of the organisers is planned for Saturday, February 25, in Banská Bystrica.
