As of January 2014, state employees will see a alary increase of €16 per month, the government decided December 11.
Under the new rules, the salary of a state employee at the lowest level will reach €338.50 per month [the minimum wage in Slovakia as of January will be €352, but there are perquisites for civil servants that bring the salary to above the minimum wage - ed. note]. The salary of an employee in the highest 11th level will reach €951.50 after the increase next year, TASR newswire wrote.
The planned €16 increase in the government-regulated pay scale was incorporated into the 2014 master collective agreement for the civil service, which was signed November 25. The measure has already been included in the draft state budget and will cost the state about €9.8 million. The means to cover the wage increase will be from the General Treasury Administration Reserve for 2014-16.
