THE PARTIES of the government coalition and the Democratic Party (DS) have secretly divided among themselves the top posts in the state's 46 labor offices, according to the Pravda daily.
Although the DS is not a cabinet party, it is led by Labor Minister Ľudovít Kaník.
According to Pravda, the majority of the heads of district labor offices are either members of the ruling parties, their sympathizers, or otherwise closely related to them.
Ivan Šimko, the former deputy-chairman of the ruling Slovak Democratic and Christian Union said he was "convinced that this [division of posts] was based on political agreements".
According to the Labor Ministry, however, the posts were filled through standard job competitions.
