Government session held in Poprad presents tourism proposals

Slovak Economy Minister Ľubomír Jahnátek thinks the government session in Poprad on November 25 will be significant for future tourism in Slovakia. The ministers passed a proposal on arranging Tatra National Park (TANAP) into zones, proposed a new law on tourism and a so-called satellite account, which is a method of collecting information concerning tourism, the TASR newswire reported. The mayor of Poprad, Anton Danko, expressed satisfaction that the process of the new law on tourism was launched in Poprad. “I really think the negotiations were very successful for our city and for the people living in it,” said Danko.

Prešov Region governor Peter Chudík believes that the prepared law will contribute to the development of tourism in Prešov region as well as in the High Tatras. He also hopes that all the dates that were agreed upon today will be met and the new legislation on tourism will be passed.

Žilina Region governor Juraj Blanár thinks the activities aimed at developing tourism need government support to be successful. TASR
