The material is stored at state reserve facilities in Limbach near Bratislava, and in Veľký Šariš (Prešov Region). The equipment will be dispatched within 24 hours of the EU's Monitoring and Information Centre (MIC) issuing a call to that effect, the TASR newswire reported.

A rescue team has also been set up, the document states, with 16 experts from firefighting squads who are trained to find trapped people, eight police officers with dogs trained for the same purpose, eight divers, six doctors and one veterinary surgeon.
