Grant provided to enhance Slovakia’s national electricity transmission grid

Slovakia’s national electricity transmission network operator, Slovenská Elektrizačná Prenosová Sústava (SEPS), has received a financial grant amounting to €210,000 for joint-interest projects within the TEN-E trans-European energy networks, the executive director the communications section of SEPS, Igor Gallo, told the SITA newswire.

He said the funds would be used to strengthen the electricity transmission network in the Lemešany – Veľké Kapušany section of the network.

So far, the €210,000 is confirmed for an environmental study and funds should later be available from the grant at up to 120 percent of the realization of the interconnection, said Gallo on March 8. The entire project, however, will require several tens of millions of euros for its completion Gallo said. SITA
