"We are preparing everything so that production can start in January 2005," Michalovce's mayor, Jozef Bobík, told the news wire TASR.

According to Bobík, the project will employ at least 100 people during its first phase.

Michalovce's authorities are negotiating with other possible investors from Germany and Italy, he said.

In a connection with the industrial park in Michalovce, this town wants to get grants from the European Union's Industry and Services operational plan.
