It seems that a war is looming between the hacker community and the state. The National Security Office (NBÚ), which among other things is in charge of security clearing, was left without internet connections on Friday afternoon.
According to the daily SME, this was due to revenge from the hacker community for the police seizure of an Onyx server that hosted several websites associated with the hacker community.
On July 21, at 16:00, the hackers disconnected the NBÚ from the internet so that the employees were unable to use emails. The NBÚ internet website was also not available.
However, NBÚ director Ivan Goldschmidt was at first unaware of the breakdown, though he later said that the office shut the website down in order to make technical changes, the daily wrote.
Pajkus, one of the three hackers who announced the break-in to the NBÚ, told SME that the problem is not with the hackers but rather a lack of safety measures at the NBÚ.
