HACKERS who last week penetrated the computer system of the National Security Bureau (NBÚ) went deeper into the system than the office admits.
According to the SME daily, the hackers gained total access to the coded line through which the NBÚ communicates with the Interior Ministry.
Interior Minister Martin Pado said that the ministry considered the violation a serious problem.
"Police and the administrators of the ministry's various networks are in communication with the NBÚ," Pado said to SME.
The Attorney General's Office has launched criminal proceedings in the case.
The NBÚ also started an investigation to find out who thought up the easily penetrable login "nbusr123" through which the hackers accessed the NBÚ's computer network and downloaded around 36,000 e-mails without the administrator even noticing that something was happening.
