Justice Minister Štefan Harabin on September 6 appointed Ladislav Hamran as Slovakia's new representative to Eurojust. General Prosecutor Dobroslav Trnka, who headed the selection commission, was also present at the ceremony.
Hamran will move to the Hague next week to take up his post for a four-year term at the European Union's judicial co-operation unit headquarters.
The incumbent representative, Peter Paluda, was recalled after an amendment gave Harabin the power to decide, upon consultations with the General Prosecutor, who should serve in the post. The amendment came into effect on July 1, 2007. TASR
