Harmonised inflation at zero in November

THE AVERAGE annual inflation rate, expressed by increase in the average annual harmonised index of consumer prices for the last 12 months in comparison with the average for the preceding 12 months, reached -0.1 percent in November 2014. The annual inflation rate measured by harmonised index of consumer prices reached 0 percent, the Slovak Statistics Office (ŠÚ) informed on December 17.

As for monthly developments, the index was largely influenced by price increases in accommodation, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.02 percentage points; in hotels, cafés and restaurants by 0.02 percentage points; in clothing and footwear by 0.03 percentage points; and in furnishings, household equipment and ordinary household maintenance by 0.06 percentage points.

On the other hand, the prices decreased in transport by 0.24 percentage points; in food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.02 percentage points; alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 0.02 percentage points; and recreation and culture by 0.01 percentage points, ŠÚ informed.
