Harmonised inflation down to 3.5 percent

The rate of growth of consumer prices measured by the harmonised index of consumer prices has slowed down to 3.5 percent in November, which is 0.4 percentage points less than in the previous month. The average annual harmonised inflation rate reached 3.8 percent, down by 0.4 percentage points compared to October, the Statistics Office informed on its website on December 14.

The November harmonised inflation was mostly affected by the rise in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages (by 0.04 percentage points) as well as those of alcohol and tobacco (by 0.03 percentage points). The prices for recreation and culture as well as various goods and services reported a slight growth of 0.02 percentage points, while the prices of clothes and footwear, furniture, house furnishings and common house maintenance, as well as prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, increased by 0.01 percentage points.

The prices of transport reported a drop of 0.08 percentage points compared to October, the Statistics Office informed.
