In May, prices grew most rapidly in the category of alcohol and tobacco (by 7.6 percent), followed by those in healthcare services and education (4.5 percent). The biggest y/y drop was registered in the prices of furniture, household equipment and routine maintenance (3.8 percent). Prices in May grew by 0.1 percent month-on-month, mainly due to price increases in food, non-alcoholic beverages and transport.

Inflation calculated according to national methodology, as reported by the Statistics Office last week, fell from 1.3 percent y/y in April to 1.2 percent in May.
