Inflation measured using the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices reached 3.8 percent year-on-year in September, the same level as in the previous month. The average annual harmonised inflation rate for the past 12 months reached 4 percent, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on its website.
In monthly terms harmonised inflation was influenced by increased prices in transport, by 0.07 percentage points; education, by 0.06 percentage points; hotels, cafés and restaurants, by 0.06 percentage points; furniture, household equipment and ordinary household maintenance, by 0.03 percentage points; food and non-alcoholic beverages, by 0.03 percentage points; clothes and shoes, by 0.02 percentage points; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, by 0.01 percentage points; and by various goods and services, by 0.01 percentage points.
