Heineken threatens investment freeze

The Heineken Slovakia brewery has threatened to freeze investments after an Anti-Monopoly Office decision rejecting its entry into a regional distributor. Heineken has invested Sk3.5 billion ($84 million) in seven years.

Heineken Slovakia boss Jean Paul van Hollebeke said the Office’s decision had taken 150 days to arrive, and that it had been motivated more by the complaints of the competition, breweries Steiger and Topvar, than by the facts.
