STRONG winds are expected to hit Slovakia today, weather experts warned.
According to the daily Pravda, the windstorm will reach the northwestern part of the country before noon and will whiz further east in the early evening.
It is expected that gusts will reach a speed of between 140 and 150 kilometres per hour. The Interior Ministry has recommended that people make sure all doors and windows are properly shut.
Car drivers should also be careful, as meteorologists expect that trees or branches could break off, endangering drivers and pedestrians.
