THE LONDON-based Mott MacDonald Limited will receive €500,000 (Sk20 million) in the first phase for assistance provided to the Slovak Roads Administration (SSC) in the latter's search for private investors for highway construction in Slovakia.
SSC spokesman Juraj Furst told the SITA news agency, however, that the SSC would not make the contract with Mott MacDonald public.
Highway construction supported by private-sector funds is expected to start in the second half of 2005. It is estimated that investors could pour Sk80-100 billion into building highways, with the returns coming primarily from highway tolls.
