AN ANONYMOUS letter claimed that a bomb had been delivered to the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry on the morning of Monday, May 16.

After a police check lasting half an hour, no bomb was discovered. "The case is being investigated as scaremongering," Bratislava regional police spokesperson Silvia Miháliková told the TASR news agency.

According to the ministry's spokesman, Juraj Tomaga, the letter was sent from a post office in Pezinok (Bratislava region). The security check did not disrupt the ministry's activities.

This was the fourth recent anonymous letter claiming a bomb had been planted. In all cases, no bomb was found.

"The letters will be examined by experts to see if there is any connection between them," Miháliková stated. The sender could be sentenced to up to five years
