A honorary Slovak consulate in Ukraine will be opened by Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák during his visit to the country’s Transcarpatia or Zakarpattia Oblast region November 14 and 15.
The consulate will be located in Velke Berezne, the Foreign Ministry informed the SITA newswire. Lajčák will speak with Oleksandr Ledid, the chairman of the Zakarpattia State Regional Administraton in Uzhhorod, and visit the Fourth Grammar School, which uses Slovak as its main language. He will also unveil, together with expats, a commemorative board dedicated to Slovak politician, scientist and diplomat Milan Rastislav Štefánik, the SITA newswire wrote.
