In the second quarter of this year, housing real estate prices dropped moderately, according to the Slovak National Bank and National Association of Real Estate Agencies.
The average price per square metre increased by 31.2 percent compared with last year, ending at Sk46,658 (€1,549). Housing real estate prices grew 34.5 percent year-on-year in Q1.
At the end of 2007, the average price per square meter was Sk37,306 (€1,238) and Sk44,463 (€1,476) at the end of the first quarter of 2008.
From the regional viewpoint, the highest average price per square metre of housing real estate last year was in the Bratislava Region, where the price reached Sk60,830 (€2,019), up 27.2 percent year-on-year. The Košice Region followed with Sk35,732 (€1,186), up as much as 58.7 percent year-on-year. The Prešov Region was third at Sk31,742 (€1,054), a 54.8 percent growth.
