His job was to help people, but now he faces charges of rape. The Sme daily has obtained a court document issued by a judge that recounts the events of the morning when the 54-year-old paramedic allegedly abducted the 22-year-old student. The document indicates that the assault was premeditated.
Upon searching the suspect's residence, the authorities discovered needles, medical supplies, and a significant quantity of prescription sleeping pills. According to Judge Roland Kemény, who ordered the detention of Ivo P. in mid-September, the suspect had plans for additional attacks.
The judge's four-page detention order describes how the paramedic is suspected of abducting the drama student, administering a sleep-inducing substance, detaining her in his residence for over a day, and eventually leaving her injured outside the main hospital in Bratislava's Petržalka borough.
One of the reasons for the suspect's detention was that the police found a large amount of sedatives, including ketamine and haloperidol, during a search of his home. The judge therefore concluded that he could harm other women.
