SPEAKER of Parliament Pavol Hrušovský left for an official visit to the US on the afternoon of April 17, the TASR news agency reported.
During the visit, Hrušovský will meet several senators, Under-Secretary of State for Political Affairs Nicolas Burns, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R), 2004 Democratic presidential candidate and Massachusetts Senator John Kerry (D), and Florida Representative John Mica (R), whose heritage is Slovak.
Transatlantic cooperation, cooperation between the Slovak Parliament and Congress, and the US visa regime for Slovaks will be the main topics of Hrušovský's meetings with US representatives.
Hrušovský will visit the White House in Washington DC and lay a wreath at the National World War II Memorial.
His wife Helena and a Slovak delegation are accompanying him on the trip.
