HUNDREDS of people attended the burial of Daniel Tupý, the 21-year-old philosophy student stabbed to death on November 4 in what is believed to have been a skinhead attack.
The police are still searching for the culprits.
Among the mourners were Daniel’s friends, peers and university teachers.
Poet and university teacher Daniel Hevier, who attended the funeral, told the Pravda daily that he was convinced that the “murderer is already punished regardless of whether he is caught or not. He [the culprit] carries an omen with which he has to live”.
Hevier thinks that Tupý’s murder was not useless because people have been “woken up” by the killing.
“We will never live in a “clean” state, as skinhead bands sing. Civilizations meet. When they kill all the yellow, black and red people, who will be next? We have to stop this,” said Hevier.
