A 30-year-old man was rescued by police in Trenčín from a 25-metre height after he became stuck trying to scale a scaffolding around the Piarist Church on Mierovo Square. The man had climbed the scaffolding after betting a friend a bottle of rum that he would take off his clothes on the church spire, but snagged his jacket half way up. Fearing he would fall if he took the jacket off, the man simply hung from the impediment quietly until he was noticed on a security camera guarding the construction site. His friend disappeared from the scene without alerting police, who eventually rescued the man.
