HUNGARIAN Foreign Minister László Kovács said the controversial Status Law on Hungarian Nationals living abroad will have to be amended.
He added that problematic areas should be solved in individual bilateral agreements between Hungary and surrounding countries.
The Status law, passed by Hungarian parliament last year, provoked nationalistic emotions in both Slovakia and Hungary, and was a cause for the European Union (EU) to raise its finger at both EU candidate countries, remarking that they need to find an agreement on the issue to ensure friendly relations important for all EU members.
