Karol Konárik, an MP for the Movement for a Democratic Slovakia (HZDS) and a well-known businessman, was hospitalized after being physically attacked in Banská Bystrica during the night of June 17, Národná Obroda reported three days later. Konárik was accompanied by a high-ranking regional police official, who was also injured.
