Cabaj is the replacement for Viliam Veteška, the former HZDS vice-chairman who died last week.

Parliament has four vice-chairs: Milan Cíž (Smer-SD), Anna Belousovová (SNS), Milan Hort (SDKÚ), and now Cabaj (HZDS). The deputy speakers manage and organise individual parliamentary activities as delegated by the chairman of parliament, currently Pavol Paška (Smer). TASR
