Milan Rastislav Štefánik International Airport in Bratislava (BTS) has prepared for the Ice Hockey World Championship in Slovakia – which begins later today, Friday, April 29 – not only by putting up special decorations and information panels, but also by dressing its employees in hockey jerseys, BTS business director Tomáš Kika announced on Thursday, April 28, as reported by the TASR newswire.
While staff providing services to passengers will wear the jerseys of the Slovak national team, those working at baggage control will be dressed as referees. In addition, 20 volunteers will help passengers by providing initial orientation advice. According to Kika, BTS has prepared a photo-wall featuring the players of the Slovak national team, and set up two table-tennis tables for passengers waiting for flights. In addition, BTS has come to an agreement with airport taxi drivers, who have pledged to reduce their fares by 20 percent during the championship, which continues until May 15.
