Slovak customs officers have discovered the largest illegal production facility for cigarettes in recent years as they seized three illegal machines for making cigarettes, a huge amount of tobacco and cigarettes in a building of a company at Drevárska Street in the town of Pezinok in western Slovakia, the SITA newswire wrote on February 21.
The customs police detained the Bulgarian owner of the company and land on which the building sat. Members of the Customs Criminal Office have been working on the case since last December. The spokeswoman for the head of the Customs Directorate, Miroslava Siemenská, reported that the illegally produced cigarettes were made and also stored in the facility.
