SLOVAKIA and six other post-communist states will deposit their accession documents with the United States government today, March 29, officially becoming members of NATO.
Along with Slovak PM Mikuláš Dzurinda, the leaders of Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, and Slovenia will be welcomed into the alliance by US President George Bush and top NATO officials.
NATO will thus have 26 member states.
