Industrial output fell by 18% y-o-y in March

The fall in Slovakia's industrial output slowed in March compared with the two immediately previous months. The Slovak Statistics Office reported a y-o-y fall of 18 percent in the third month of 2009 compared with the revised 25.6 percent drop in February and the January fall of 25.4 percent.

The March figures resulted from a 20.8 percent decline in output in industrial manufacturing, a 4.1 percent fall in generation and distribution of electricity, natural gas, steam and cooled air and a 1.9 percent drop in extraction of mineral raw materials. SITA
