Industrial output in Slovakia increased 31 percent year-on-year in May, according to data from the Slovak Statistics Office. It represents the strongest growth this year.
Development of the indicator was influenced by 35.6-percent growth in industrial manufacturing, the Statistics Office said, as quoted by the SITA newswire on July 8. With regards to the industrial sectors that contributed most to the growth of overall production, production of computers, electronic and optical devices saw the steepest improvement, growing by 85.3 percent. On the other hand, production of coke and refined crude oil products saw a 33.4-percent decline.
The index of industrial output has grown 22.6 percent year-on-year since the beginning of the year. Industrial manufacturing posted an increase of 25.3 percent, supplies of electrical energy, gas, steam and cool air of 12.2 percent, and mining and extraction of raw mineral materials of 6.9 percent.
