Industrial production in August was eight per cent higher than the same month last year, the second highest monthly value in 2002 after May’s 11.5 per cent year-on-year rise, according to the Statistical Office.
Economic analysts said the surge had been driven by auto industry production led by output at Volkswagen Bratislava’s factory, and could increase further in the coming months as Slovakia’s European export markets returned to better economic health.
