Kooperativa insured the construction of the Jablonov-Jánovce (Prešov region) D1 highway stretch, which included the bridge between Kurimany and Iliašovce.

"The damage is estimated at €2 million at the moment, of which €1.3 million represents the damage on property and machines, while the compensation for damage-related injuries is estimated at €650,000," said Barkolová. Kooperativa stated that it is ready to meet its commitments to the full extent after the relationships between individual entities responsible for constructing the bridge are clarified.

[The tender for building the stretch was won by a consortium of Slovak firm Váhostav and Czech company Bogl a Krýsl, but it has emerged that the consortium contracted a different company to carry out the actual construction work. - ed. note]
