Interior Minister Vladimír Palko admitted that his ministry's surveillance system contained an apparently illegal recording of a private conversation between ANO party leader Pavol Rusko and a journalist. However, he denied the recording had been authorized by the ministry leadership.
The admission was the latest in a tense standoff between Rusko and his ruling coalition partners, whom he accuses of misusing the police and the secret service against him.
ANO has said it may leave the ruling coalition if its demands for more influence over the secret service and interior ministry are not satisfied.
