Interior minister meets US special operations commanders

Slovak Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák met senior officers from US special forces units on Tuesday, October 30. He held talks with the Commander of US Special Operations Navy Admiral William H. McRaven and Commander of Special Operations for Europe Major General Michael S. Repass, the department of communications of the Interior Ministry said, as reported by the SITA newswire. The issues debated covered the possibility of preparing and training Slovak special forces and assistance to the US in this field.

The meeting was also an opportunity to thank the US for support to Slovak troops protecting the Slovak Embassy in Baghdad, provided before the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq in December 2011.
