Interior Ministers from the eight countries making up the Salzburg Forum – Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Slovakia – as well as from two non-member states, Moldova and Croatia, will meet in Bratislava for two days from May 12.
"The Salzburg Forum forms a bridge between the European Union and non-member states in this region. Interior Ministers will discuss the entry of Bulgaria and Romania to the Schengen area and possibilities for further support for these two countries," Slovak Interior Ministry spokesperson Ľudmila Stanová told the SITA newswire.
The politicians will also discuss the future of the Salzburg Forum as a group that could effectively promote the common interests of its members in the EU.
