The Interior Ministry will investigate the police operation in Moldava nad Bodvou, Košice Region, which resulted in injuries of 30 Roma from a nearby settlement, the Sme daily reported on June 26.

Meanwhile, Sme received a video with testimonies of the witnesses of the attack from the Roma Press Agency. The witnesses say that the raid was done in revenge for a dispute between the police and Roma from June 16, after which two Roma were detained. While the police released one of them four days later, the second remained in custody. One of the people in the video, Jarmila Irma, says that the released Roma told her the police plan “to set fire to a settlement”, as reported by Sme.
