International labour market conference opens in Bratislava

A two-day international labour conference designed to gauge the current state of the labour market in new EU-member states and find ways of securing a qualified workforce opened in Bratislava on September 25.

Some 200 experts are attending the event, entitled 'From the Shortage of Job Opportunities to the Shortage of a Qualified Labour Force'. More than 20 of the delegates - representatives of respective national labour ministries and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) - will speak about their experiences in the field of labour policy and employment.

Officials from the Slovak Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Ministry and the European Commission Office to Slovakia will also take the floor to expand on labour-market issues. TASR
