“The committee didn't hold a session [to deal with Radičová], as Mrs. Radičová gave up her mandate herself. We’ve only decided that this vacated post will go to the SDKÚ’s chosen replacement, Mr. Golian,” said committee chair Renáta Zmajkovičová (Smer).

Golian ran in the general election in 2006 in 32nd place on the SDKÚ’s list of candidates, the TASR wrote. He has previously served as a state secretary at the Agriculture Ministry. According to information published on the SDKÚ website, Golian works as a secondary-school PE teacher and head of the sports department at the Technical University in Zvolen (Banská Bystrica Region).
