"Developments in unemployment may therefore be deemed to be stable," said ÚPSVaR, as quoted by the TASR newswire. A total of 408,404 job seekers were listed at Job Centres in March, with 369,845 of them immediately available for work. The largest monthly drop in the jobless rate was seen in Trnava Region (0.17 percentage points), while Košice Region suffered a rise of 0.01 percentage points on a monthly basis.

If the unemployment rate were calculated from the overall number of those officially jobless (including people who aren't immediately available for work due to pregnancy, recovery from accident or ailment), it would have stood at 15.11 percent, up 0.13 percentage points month-on-month.
