THE REGISTERED jobless rate in Slovakia reached 8.89 percent at the end of March, down 0.31 percentage points from the previous month, the National Labour, Social Affairs and Family Office announced on April 17.
This means unemployment in Slovakia is at an all-time low, with it being the first time unemployment has dropped below nine percent.
The jobless rate was 2.53 points lower than in March 2006.
The number of job seekers able to take a job immediately was 231,161 at the end of March. This was 8,009 less than in February. Compared to March of last year, the figure decreased by 61,002 people.
The Labour and Social Affairs' offices reported 264,530 job seekers at the end of March, down by 8,985 people from February and 64,739 people from March 2006.
