JUSTICE Minister Štefan Harabin will not withdraw his proposed law to cancel the Special Court for organized crime cases, saying he wants to wait for the stance of the cabinet and its legislative council.
PM Robert Fico has already stated, however, that he and his Smer party are against the cancellation of the court. Fico said the effectiveness of the court should be increased.
Harabin said he would read the analysis that Fico had prepared on the operation of the Special Court before deciding the fate of his draft law.
The Special Court has won the support of a group of around 700 citizens who signed a petition in favour of its preservation.
